Printed and signed certificates verifying that Charles Wilson Nibley was called to serve as a missionary for the Mormon Church. The items are dated 9 Oct. 1869 and 17 Oct. 1876. The items were signed by Brigham Young, George A. Smith, John Willard Young, and Daniel H. Wells.

Handwritten and printed deeds of conveyance from Wells to Brigham Young, the second president of the Mormon Church. The items confirm that Young owns various lots in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Abstract

The folder contains a printed circular addressed "To the Bishop and the Board of the United Order in Your Ward." The item requests that food and tools be sent to St. George, Utah to assist in the construction of the Mormon temple there. The item was endorsed by Brigham Young, George A. Smith, and Daniel H. Wells.

Handwritten unsigned, autobiographical account believed to have been written by Huntington. The author writes of being called by Brigham Young and Daniel H. Wells to go with an expedition to Carson Valley and tell the Mormons there to return to Utah to meet the United States army, known as "Johnston's Army" in 1857. Huntington gives and account of this expedition and mentions those who participated in it.

Typewritten list of manuscripts available for purchase from Mauray Bromsen Associates. The item presents a list of deeds of conveyance from Daniel H. Wells, mayor of Salt Lake City, Utah, to Emeline A. Young, Henry W. DeSpain, and Brigham Young, from 1873 to 1875.

Scope and Contents

Photocopies of correspondence, reports, histories, petitions, resolutions, and miscellaneous items relating to the Mormon Church in Hawaii. Most of the materials are associated with missionary work, and most date from the nineteenth century. A few items are in the Hawaiian language. One letter was written by the Mormon prophet, Brigham Young (1801-1877), and several letters are addressed to Daniel H. Wells, the Mormon apostle.

Scope and Contents Two letters addressed to, and one written by, Robison at Fort Bridger in 1857. The earliest, written by Louis Vasquez on April 30, informs Robison that Vasquez and Jim Bridger will send someone to collect balance due on purchase of the fort. On verso is Robison's May 27 letter to Daniel H. Wells, forwarding the Vasquez letter. Handwritten correspondence, certificates, patriarchal blessings, family histories, and genealogies. The items relate to Ammon M. Tenney and to other members of the Tenney family. The letters and certificates are from prominent Mormon Church leaders.

Handwritten and signed letter, dated 13 Feb. 1850, and addressed to Daniel H. Wells, commander in chief of the Utah Militia. Young gives advice to Wells about a military campaign.
